Frequently Asked Questions
How long are lessons?
Lessons are 90 minutes long.
Can a lesson substitute for a learn-to-row class?
A private lesson can substitute for a learn-to-row class and certify a new rower to start working out with the club. If a group desires a learn-to-row lesson, after coordination with the PRC Head Coach, the lesson will be designated for new rowers only.
What is the basic content of a lesson?
Each lesson starts with a short warm-up on land and a brief discussion of the lesson objective. All rowing activities follow an assessment-teaching/drills-reassessment format. Lessons will typically be divided equally between teaching, practical exercises, and fitness work.
Can I request specific areas of focus or customization for a lesson?
Yes, our staff encourages rowers' engagement. We can provide tailored lessons on areas such as: coastal rowing, beach sprints, race preparation, rigging and maintenance, ergometer workouts, and more. Just ask!
